Cyprus’ Independence Day

October 1st was Cyprus’ Independence Day.  We were on a drive when we saw these dainty looking creatures peddling the highway.

I wasn’t sure if they were for a military exercise or going off to fight a war on the island.  But it may have been part of a big parade. Oh yes, looks like it was for an annual military parade (blog post from 2011):

But from the Cyprus Mail press, little coverage was centered on the parade:

So, how many tanks and military equipment do you need for a parade? We saw maybe around 50 tanks and other armored vehicles.

Happy Independence Day, Cyprus!
